Dear reader,
Thanks to the warm
Mediterranean temperatures here in Majorca there is quite a nightlife here
until the early morning hours. Majorca's nightlife has a lot to offer.
Night owls will be pleased
to find that parties here in Majorca, though they don't start until 11
p.m., usually last until around 8 a.m. Starting at around 6 a.m. 'café con
leche' (coffee with milk) and breakfast are usually already available in
one of the snug little pubs around the harbours.
Dinner (there is a variety
of charming little restaurants in the Lonja, Santa Catalina, Molinar, the
Paseo Marítimo, etc)
Majorcans usually dine
between 9.30 and 10 p.m. after which they will typically go to one of the
famous cocktail bars (many of them are on the Paseo Marítimo or in the
Lonja) such as Puro Hotel, Abaco, Bar Atlantico, Bar de la Marina, Barito
etc. or to one of the hip bars (most of which are to be found on the Paseo
Marítimo) such as La Yaya, Made in Brazil, Pub Chapeau, Agua, Ambigu Bar,
Garito, Mosquito, Harbour Club, etc. These are the classic hangouts until
about 2 to 3 a.m. after which one might have found out about a hip party
to go to. Most parties in Majorca don't get going before about 3 a.m.
anyway.
Palma offers some groovy
discothèques such as Abraxas, Azzurro Salsa, Tito's, La Demence, Salsita
Club, Olivia Val'ere, Level Club, King Kamehameha Club, etc., where the
party only really starts rocking around 3.30 a.m. with trendy Latino
rhythms, techno and house.
Since the 1930s Tito's has
been famous as one of the best nightclubs in Europe – virtually a must on
Sundays.
True night owls then make
their way to bed and usually don't get up until late afternoon, knowing
that the next night will most certainly be just as exhausting as the
previous one.
Palma bears the absolutely
hottest party venues on the island.
In the summer season the
popular tourist destinations around Palma are also among the happening
places. For example the Playa de Palma (s'Arenal)
with places such as the Riu Palace and Magaluf with BCM, the biggest disco
in Majorca, are places where one can enjoy a good party until the early
hours of the morning.
Each one of the larger
communities in Majorca has something to offer for everyone, whether it's
hot spots for young people or quiet bars for the more refined.
ATTENTION - there is only one tiny
little catch though:
The legal alcohol limit lies
at 0,5. The police here in Majorca is ruthless, especially close to the
discothèques and nightclubs. If one wants to party and drink, one should
either consider having a designated driver in the group or, of course
there are always taxis.
We hope that you have got an impression
now of the diverse nightlife
here in Majorca.
Wishes you a good time and be
safe!
